-Keep your home at a comfortable temperature
In the winter months keep your home warm enough for your dog to sleep comfortably and in the summer months be sure to have air circulating that way they don't become overheated. The background noise of an air conditioner or a fan will also make them feel less alone.

It's important to never leave your dog in a silent environment while you're gone. Many animals experience separation anxiety and silence will trigger that. Turning on the TV or radio will relax your dog and keep them company while you're away.

Whether it's their favorite stuffed animal, ball or squeaky toy, toys will definitely distract and consume your dogs attention while you are not at home. You might want to consider swapping out your dog's toys occasionally too because they will eventually get bored with playing with the same thing.
